Kinokuniya

Album: Joss Stone - Introducing Joss Stone

I just received my exam results. I got an A- for that crazy assignment!! *Relieved*

After spending 2 hours trying to make my blog more 'presentable' (appealing), 'discovered' that I have to configure the html thing from top to bottom. Lets just remain as the way it is, for now ^^; (my ultimate goal is to make it look like this though) EDIT: I know how to do it now. But I still prefer this haha.

Anyway, to promote the sales of ROCKIN'ON JAPAN mentioned in previous post in Malaysia, here's some guides on how to buy it:

1. If you don't wish to buy it online, the other way is buy it at Kinokuniya. Kinokuniya is located in 4th floor, the floor above TGV cinema. The new Japanese section is actually hidden, you have to go as 'deep' as possible, it is located behind those music related books.

2. Since I 'took' the last copy of it, you have to order from them. Go to the counter and tell them you want to order Magazines (or to be more specific, backorder it). Then they will give you a form like this below:

Fill in your name, phone number (they will either call you or sms you once your order has arrived), quantity, date, and write down the magazine you want, be as precise as possible (date, issue, volume). In this case, ROCKIN' ON JAPAN May 2007 issue. The price depends on the currency rate but normally the price of magazines will not differ that much, means that your copy will be around RM 28.10 (I think).

The order should take less than a month to be arrived. Depends on what you are buying. They will sms you once they have received your copy.

That's all. Happy YUI-ing.

This is what I bought on my trip to KLCC (and book fair) yesterday:

1. LIVE ON MUSIC (音楽に生きる @Kinokuniya) ~RM 34
2. 挪威的森林 - 村上春樹 (Norwegian Wood - Haruki Murakami) ~RM 8.90
3. 即戦力 - 大前研一 (Ohmae Kenichi) ~RM 27.40
4. The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint Exupery ~RM 10
5. Freakonomics - Steven D. Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner ~RM 19.90
6. The Great Collection of Studio Ghibli DVD box set ~RM 35.90 (YUI said that she likes Kiki's delivery service xD )

TOTAL = BROKE T.T
(Note: My selections were based on the price, except number 1 & 3)

I wanna read The World is Flat!! It's over RM 30 =( Maybe I should cut down my expenses on magazines, I can buy it if I skip one issue of B-PASS, which is kinda impossible hee.

Or maybe I should register myself to some blog advertising company =x

Till then.

Arbeit

Album: Paolo Nutini - These Streets

One of the popular essay title (Chinese) in exams back in primary school was A Lucky/ Bad Day (美好/倒霉的一天). You start to cram in the good/ bad things as many as possible in that 120 words essay. I don't really believe that so many surprising events can happen in one day but what happened yesterday kinda changed my perception towards it, until something else happened.

It's about good luck btw. I received my pay (RM 95 only) after being treated like some cheap labour for 2 days. If you wanna get slim fast, this is one of the more efficient way. I had to reach KTM station around 5 pm so I 'quited' one hour earlier.

However I didn't go to the LRT station asap, went to Kinokuniya instead. I bet you know why. I can't believe that I actually saw 4 magazines I might want to buy siting on the book shelf. Especially ROCKIN' ON JAPAN (Natsumi: Sorry about that lol). That's a first. Normally it's either 1 or 2 of it or none at all. After flipping through the content (comparing which has more YUI), I used more than half what I've earned for the past 2 days and bought 2 magazines.

The one on the left is Nikkei Entertainment.

When I reached home, my mom told me that there's a package for me. !! My CrossRoads Mylar3 has arrived~ That was kinda unexpected.

Sorry about the flashlight. Too lazy to configure it. I was 'over burning' this new little baby for 24 hours. The packaging is kinda ugly but this is what we called affordable entry IEM, with this price it's impossible to buy Shure, Sennheiser or even the ultimate E something.

Continue. I tell you go get yourself a copy of ROCKIN' ON JAPAN now, even you can't read Japanese, as long as you love dear YUI. It roughly contains of 15 pages of pictures + 12 pages of interview, total 20000 of words.

We have pictures of YUI playing piano, and roughly 10 pages of words (took me an hour to finish it) as displayed above. The 'larger' magazine at the back is Nikkei Entertainment.

That's just a preview of it, the content of ROCKIN' ON is soo intense, filled with lots of untold histories, things about YUI might 'shocked' you after you found it out. A lot of Japanese fans cried after reading it. Well for me you know I'm just a JLPT level 3 first year student, can't really FULLY understand it but I can roughly know what's going on. I didn't cried though, again language barrier. But I was really impressed by YUI all over again and made you think again and again before you judge somebody without knowing them. I'll dedicate a few new posts about this magazine soon. Hope by then I can write it in a more serious tone, minimise my errors as little as possible.

The actual interview lasted for 3 hours, YUI talked about herself chronologically since she was born up till the moment before her 20th birthday. The interview was on 25th of March, yea the day she performed her last teen street live.
(NOTE: IT WAS YUI WHO CAME UP THIS STREET LIVE THING)

Today we're going to talk about Nikkei Entertainment. Something light before the big thing. You can skip the whole thing if you don't listen to Jpop. You can still read it though. As usual, don't believe in everything I wrote.

This magazine is really something, no wonder a lot of foreign media using the reports made by this magazine and 'create' some news from it. Especially the one above. So called 4 New Divas (新四大天王). I kinda explained about this here, lets not talk about how bad foreign medias adapted the report. From the report apparently the previous 4 divas were:

Hamasaki Ayumi, Koda Kumi, Otsuka Ai and Utada Hikaru. Because their albums managed to sell more than 500k copies at the moment.

In the past 6 months, another 4 female artists who achieved huge breakthrough will be Ayaka, Ito Yuna, Kimura Kaela, and of course dear YUI. They might be the 4 new generation divas (I used divas because Four Heavenly Kings/ Queens sounds so wrong LOL, I LOVE wikipedia haha)

First they compared 4 of them based on their fan base. Ayaka is balance type, Ito Yuna has more female supporters, Kaela is more appeal towards males. The age for 3 of them will be mostly fans in their 20s, and 30s too but very few in their 10s.

Here's why YUI is so special. Not only she has a lot of fans in 20s, she has a lot young fans too (10s). Maybe it has to do with the wonderful lyrics she wrote which manage to attract younger listeners. They can connect with the meanings/ messages behind it.

The ratio between male and female fans of YUI will be in 6:4. Normally for female artists, male will go for looks more, female artists who are too idol-ish will have less female fans. For YUI, she managed to gain support from a wide range of people, regardless age or gender.

Judging from the voice YUI can have an innocent/ idol-ish sweet voice yet delivers powerful performance at the same time because she has street performing experience. As for looks she can be the rock chick in Rolling star rocking out with her electric, to wearing a dress, dressed in a girly way, singing CHE.R.RY accompanied by her acoustic.

And that might be the reason why she's loved by so many people. Versatility?

Music wise. Look at the chart below:

They divided present female artists to 4 parts. Left is vocalist, right is songwriters. Upper part will be female artists who are more focus on the sound (I don't really get it anyway), below is the ones who are more focus on vocal performance (tell me if you don't understand). And artists were arranged according to the time they debut. Means the ones who debuted earlier will be placed further from the center point.

Hence,

Vocalist + Sound
hitomi
Tommy heavenly6
YUKI
Kimura Kaela
Takahashi Hitomi
Tsuchiya Anna

Vocalist + Voice
UA
Namie Amuro
Kuraki Mai
Hamasaki Ayumi
Koda Kumi
Crystal Kay
Nakashima Mika
Hajime Chitose
Hitoto Yo
Hirahara Ayaka
BoA
Ito Yuna
Salyu

Songwriter + Vocal

Cocco
MISIA
Onitsuka Chihiro
Utada Hikaru
AI
Katou Miliyah
Ayaka
Angela Aki

Songwriter + Sound

BONNIE PINK
aiko
Shiina Ringo
Yaida Hitomi
Otsuka Ai
YUI

You might disagree their categorisation but somehow I think it kinda makes sense. Give me a concrete reason if you disagree (I disagree at certain point to when I first read it, still don't really understand the position of Hikki lol). Lets just say that we can't really categorise these stuff, this is just a guideline.

Then they said that Ayaka is Hikki's type (balance type), Yuna is Koda's type (famous among females), Kaela will be YUKI.

What about YUI? Otsuka Ai.

Calm down. The reason they said so is because both YUI and Otsuka posses both idol and artist's characteristics. YUI towards rock, Otsuka towards pop, even though they might not 'clash' between genres, YUI's biggest rival still might be Otsuka Ai. However YUI has a strong fan base among younger generation, as a rockish singer songwriter, she has her own position in the music industry.

What do you think?? Please don't give me YUI's the best/ hail YUI responses. I'm well aware of that thank you. Even though I was forced to write these analysis back then in school, it was in BM so if my writings are confusing, sorry about that. I still have a long way to go =.= I shall go and read the rest to discover more interesting 'phenomenon'. Ueno Juri and Nagasawa Masami~~~~~

Now I don't really know why I wrote this at the first place. Should be a day in my life but turned out...Anyway about that day, when I thought that I was the luckiest person in the world, my mom asked me to bring her to some place in PJ, in the end I was stuck in traffic jam for 1 whole hour (even morning rush hours are better than this, wonder what happened). Since I drive a manual car, imagine the fun switching gears every 15 seconds.

Guess there's no such thing as my luckiest day after all.

Till then, au revior.

I've been tagged

Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand

I just watched Taiyou no Uta for the second time (yes only twice, fully) while ironing a huge pile of clothes at the same time. Discovered things such as, Guild's guitar case (instead of Fender, ignore it if you don't get it).

Or the fact that the reason why Kaoru said that her favourite banana is food. She took a sikat of banana back to her room (among other foods) after the Fm chord incident (I'm trying to make it spoiler free).

Which brings us back to today's topic. Roughly 2 months ago some girl named Lin Bor tagged me. I was not going to 'respond' to it but yesterday some guy who named himself Little Prince complained that my blog is full of YUI and apparently he's bored with it. So, to 'cater' my other readers here's my 6 idiosyncrasies (<- I don't really know what that means actually):

1. I am obsessed with YUI, obviously. If I can, I wish to have some sort of psychic power so that I can read her mind. But then it won't be that much fun anymore. Anyway, if I can I definitely wanna read/ watch all her interviews so that I can get to know her more (sounds like a stalker). I have no intention to collect ALL her stuff though (gave up that thought long ago, unless I married a rich guy), of course I will buy all her CDs. The bottom line is, YUI kinda changed me, my perceptions towards certain things, people. Since we both share the same age, If she can achieve so much in such relatively young age, why can't I? She still remains down to earth despite the fame and the success. Why shouldn't I support such artist? A Singapore paper (The New Paper) interviewed her recently, check it for yourself. Such cute answers lol. See that hilarious title? ROCK CHICK XD

Credits to Helixius @ YL. But they made a few errors though, these always happens when it comes to overseas media =.= Anyway, I think Little Prince will get offended by the fact that they compared dear YUI to Cheer Chen (陳綺貞) LOL. 靜靜地躺在我的衣櫃~ (I'm just messing around the lyrics)

Ok enough YUI-ing.

2. I have a thing with guitars, even though my guitar skills still kinda suck. Every time I watch some artists performing, I have to know what brand they're using. Of course my eyes still not that 'keen' to differentiate a custom/standard whatever LP and what not, or what sort or woods, how many pick ups, humbuckers (still learning)...manage to know the brand is already suffice for me. However, when it comes to YUI's guitars.....hehe....fellow YUI fans + guitar freaks, wait and see.

3. I can be quite picky. Especially on a particular brand (eg. guitar picks) or my daily routines. I'll be pretty pissed if I can't buy the things I want, after traveled from far (kononnya sold out, no more stock), or you trying to screw up my routines lol. In Malaysia, picky people = hard to deal, because generally we are not that confide with these small matters (if you get what I mean). Hence we can see things such as leaking Parliament building after just renovated 2 years ago with 90 freaking million, 'leaking' problems on women, so called SMART tunnel which isn't so smart after all. I should shut up now before I get prisoned for violating the ISA act =x

4. Coffee is a must, at least once a day. Yea I'm a coffee addict. Instant coffee is already enough for me, because I have no extra money to go Coffee Bean or San Fransisco Coffee (I don't like Starbucks in Malaysia, even though they're more famous in your country).

5. I have white phobia. I cannot eat those slimy/ creamy/ liquid-y looking whitey stuff. I'll freak out if you smack a plate full of cream on me. That's why I don't eat cakes or drink milk. I eat rice, tofu though. It depends after all.

6. I like to wander around with my backpack. I stuff a lot of things inside it and I'll bring it wherever I go. I don't like to waste my time sitting there doing nothing but plain gossiping. Sadly Gucci, Prada, LV, Coach's bags are too small for me, because I'll stuff books, magazines inside too. If you see a nerd-looking girl with a red/ black backpack + green water bottle at the side + jeans + sneakers wandering alone in KLCC (especially at Kinokuniya), most probably is me.

Guess I'm not that weird after all, haha. I'm just a normal, plain looking girl who thinks that she should expand her social circle so that she won't feel as if being isolated, you know listening to not-so-mainstream music, watching not-so-mainstream movies/ dramas, obsessed with not-so-familiar artists, using not-so-common softwares/ devices (by Malaysians' context). I should go out more and meet more 'interesting' people (by Teo's measurements).

That's why I LOVE the internet. Broadens my horizon. Well depends how you use it. I do a lot of time-wasting stuff too, since I'm such a procrastinator.

Finally I got myself a part-time job, starting tomorrow. 2 days only though =.= Feel free to 'stalk' me at KL Convention Center *thinks of buying books....and Pirates of Carribean 3*

I ain't gonna tag anyone.

Till then, au revior.

The Sound of YUI Part 1

Album: John Mayer - Heavier Things

Onitsuka Chihiro is back~!! She is one of the few artist which I can pick any of her album, and listen to it from the beginning till the end. That kinda directly translate as = making the same stuff over and over again. But if you can produce something (same) constantly and people will not get bored of it even after a long time, that's something. I love to listen to her albums at night, before I sleep, they are way better than those sleeping pills.

New PV - everyhome

As usual, nothing fancy, same old 'dark' song accompanied by piano only. Even though I read a lot of 'bizzare' news about her, at least she's back now =D

If you look at the title of this entry (which sounds kinda awkward), Onitsuka has nothing to do with YUI lol. Just wanna 'squeeze' this news in before I start on YUI. Anyway, Onitsuka san write lyrics first then melody, whereas dear YUI writes melody first then lyrics =P

Back of YUI音 (YUI on). I started a thread about it back then in the forum but it kinda dies off T.T Recently I have the spare time to 'venture' in the world of music (yea I'm jobless now *sigh* ), when I'm sick of those crappy music (you know, sometimes you just wanna listen to whatever others listening, since everyone is listening to it), YUI always manage to surprise me with her wide range of music knowledge (yea I look for her recommendations, besides Amazon =P ).

There's a segment in YUI LOCKS! (radio program) called YUI on, YUI will introduce some of the songs she likes to the listeners. Sometimes she will recommend her favourite albums too in certain magazines. I will list down some of them from time to time, when I ran out of things to rant or something xD

You can refer to this site too, this Japanese fan also listed down some of the artists YUI mentioned in his blog. I got most of it from his blog too =D

Today I'll just write down those recent songs or albums, well I like most of the stuff she recommends actually (yes I'm biased). You be the judge.

Gemma Hayes - Hanging Around

YUI will listen to this song before live performances, make herself relaxed. I'm still 'searching' for her albums =( I can only 'satisfy' myself from YouTube and Amazon. Another female guitarist woot! Never heard of her before that. Wonder how YUI gather these 'sources' xD

In Nov 2006 COOL TRANS magazine, YUI recommended some albums to be listen during autumn (Malaysia only has summer, so it doesn't really matter).

Kasabian - Kasabian

I think most of you guys heard of this song:

Kasabian - Club Foot (live)

Ooosh~~~ XD !!! As I was wondering where is the bassist (I thought it was a Gibson firebird instead of thunderbird bass =.= that thing looks hot though), it's actually a bass solo!! Gosh, fkin awesome, great performance. Who said that bass is boring?? (I used to think so). That bass solo guy is actually a guitarist (he seems like playing guitar on a bass xD ), too bad he left the group. The later perfs of this song don't sound that great anymore (the new guitarist is playing the bass). I spent 2 hours figuring the bassist guitarist switching part lol, if you don't understand ignore this part. So far I'm loving this album =D It's the bass xD

YUI recommended Franz Ferdinand's 'Do You Want To' too for autumn listening. Seems that there's a uncensored version music video of this song lol. I like Take Me Out =P

In JILLE (Feb 2007) magazine, one of YUI's 3 favourite CDs is Jason Mraz's Waiting For My Rocket. You and I, The Remedy are the BOMBs!! Back then I thought this album was just meh, besides those 2 great singles, oh and Curbside Prophet (before I started guitar lol). I should re-listen it again. Since it's YUI's fave xD

Besides that, we all know that dear YUI inspired by Avril Lavigne (when she was 15, she was 'shocked' by Avril when she first hear her album in a CD shop), Michelle branch (famous Goodbye to You cover), Sheryl Crow, all these female guitarist back then (kinda glad that we were in the same generation LOL, can totally relate to it). Of course, not forget Alanis Morissette. In BENT magazine (Feb 2007), YUI said that 'You Learn' (in Jagged Little Pill) is one of the song she will listen in the beginning of a day, and it will lift up her spirit.

And in J-Wave (radio program) open recording at Ebisu's garden place, YUI sang Hands Clean during rehearsal. In YUI LOCKS (17/5/2007) she played the intro too (didn't sing along >.< ), it was one of YUI's favourite guitar phrase (she added extra notes in it, have to figure it out myself T.T ). She will play + sing it during sound checking, she likes the sound of the chords, feels great listening to it.

Again in YUI LOCKS (25/01/2007), YUI selected The Offspring's Special Delivery as one of the cheer up song, especially for those who taking exams, she thinks that after listening to this song (maybe twice a week cos everyday might be too much), the stress will gone and you'll have the urge to study again. She thinks the title sounds cool too lol. Extra: 2 years ago in Fukuoka, YUI heard this song when she entered a junk shop (selling old stuff) and felt adrenaline rush (lol I don't know how to describe it) after listening it. (I heard hookah hookah in the background LOL, I like the progression from the beginning)

Tired adi xD What about Japanese songs?? Next time. Along with oldies and weird ones. Depends on the reaction I get. Well I myself enjoyed YouTube-ing though =P Feel free to take a look at these songs =) If you are unemployed just like me. I think i ranted too much xD

Which btw YUI said that she will look at translations to understand the songs more.

Till then, adieu.

YUI no Ontama 30/03/2007

Yay last =P Enjoy~

Oh before that YUI updated her diary, showing us her funny side LOL so cute >.< From her writings it seems that she's in a very good mood lol. Changed the title of her previous entry too (back then the title was 2007-5-03). Staff diary is updated as well. Wait for Gin's translation then =D Her latest TV appearance will be giving a comment on CDTV because she won April's artist of the month.

AND, you can watch Saido kaa ni inu preview here (click the camera thingy icon). Seems like Takeuchi Yuko is playing some bold daring girl (?). It's about the little girl (Kaoru) in her 30s thinking back that summer holiday when she first met Takeuchi Yuko (Yooko), if I didn't misinterpret it. Looks good though. The setting is in the 80s, see that old coke can xD In the article they said it has Pacman, plastic figures as well =D

Previous YUI no Ontama Entries:
Part 1 - personal Q
Part 2 - ring tune Quiz
Part 3 - whisper
Part 4 - mobile email

Part 5 - Border Line

As usual, don't believe in everything. Correct my sentences if you wanna hard/ soft sub it. Tell me if I made any mistakes. Thank you.

No video link this time. Only a screenie.

border line - YUI

Ontama border line. This time we will challenge YUI's tolerance limit. How far she can stand with each given situation. Well then convenience store episode start!!

Q: You entered one convenient store the shop assistant didn't greet you irrashaimase, he said irrashaimashue instead.

YUI: Safe. I'll imitate it (smiles).

Please imitate it.

YUI: Irrashaimashue~

Guess this brings back her old memories when she was part timing as a waitress at Chinese restaurant LOL. She smiled when the host talked about the 'irrashaimase' (welcome greeting), maybe she already knew what they will ask xD

Q: When you were selecting the goods, some kid bumped into you from the back. You check on whether he's fine or not but he replied by giving you a 'what the heck/ jeez' look.

YUI: (smiling) Safe.

Q: After paying the bill, you received the bag packed with warm/hot curry and cold pudding and realized that they were put together in the same bag.

YUI: Hmm safe. Maybe I'll try it together with soy sauce (?). The pudding.

Pudding + Soy Sauce = Sea Urchin's flavour

Q: You reached home and decided to eat curry but instead of spoon they put in chopsticks.

YUI: おっと! (aiks, oh man, uh-oh, aiyak) Eh..It's hard to eat using chopsticks right? The curry. Well but...safe?

Ontama CD Album Sales Ranking. The best selling album at the moment is...

1. Mr. Children - HOME
2. Koda Kumi - BEST~BOUNCE AND LOVERS~
3. Nakashima Mika - YES

You're too nice.

YUI: opps (laughs).

Try to stand up for yourself more.

YUI: I'll try my best!! (bows)

自己主張 = self asserted

Left: Nice Hashimoto, that time it was hard...
Right: Next week is Nice Hashimoto. (I like kin mirai by him =P )

END.

Hope you enjoyed this program which managed to show us the 'other' side of dear YUI. Seriously I don't know how many times I've watched it XD I have some 'projects' going on in my head now, just be patient, lets wait and see~

Finally I finished Harry Potter The Half-Blood Prince. After being spoiled by newspaper the day after it released =.= Hopefully I won't 'bumped' into these spoilers, for the last book. If you tell me, I'll KILL you (using Kaoru's tone in Taiyou no Uta, if you know what I mean). Reading some money-making book now lol.

Till then, adieu.

This time I have the original transcription in Japanese, from おちびちゃん's blog. Thanks to her, I don't have to repeat the video so many times to get what YUI's saying =P As usual, don't believe in everything, and if you wanna soft/ hard-sub it, please double check my grammar lol.

Ontama mail. Received an email from manager san.

YUI:

Otsukaresama. To YUI who always go out for a walk, please be careful when you're going out. I'll get worried if unable to contact you, so please make sure you bring along your mobile phone.

Note that YUI's manager uses ゆい instead of YUI (he knows her real name *of course*). Someone laughed after YUI finished reading, bet it's her staff.

Well then YUI san, please reply it right now. Please reply within the time limit.

YUI: *busy typing...*

You enjoy taking a walk?

YUI: I like it.

I wonder why the host purposely 'distorted' the word suki to tsuki. And YUI replied in su...tsuki too XD

What makes you enjoy taking a walk?

YUI: The change of mood/ pace. And it feels great breathing in the outside air.

You didn't bring along your mobile phone?

YUI: ? Nah. I brought along...I think. Probably.

Eh? It's that so?

5 seconds remaining.

YUI: Finished!

Ontama EZ [chaku uta full] Ranking, the most downloaded song is...

1. Utada Hikaru - Flavor Of Life
2. Koda Kumi - BUT
3. YUI - CHE.R.RY

YUI:

Otsukaresama desu!

I'll be careful when I go for a walk.

As for mobile phone, I'll bring along too. Sun (the emoticon).

Thank you very much!

Seems like a very honest reply.

YUI: Yea...*laughs* Yep.

ということで...

Brought to you by au by KDDI.

Left: New program Ontama Borderline Right: YUI again in tomorrow.

END.

I'll try to find the most 'appropriate' word for the ones in Japanese. If I found it =x

Random stuff:

Karei naru Ichizoku...W00T!! (2 episodes to go) I don't get why Hana Yori Dango gets Best Drama though =/ For once I see Kimura acting differently (even though still manage to 'spot' some of his 'trademark gestures'), still, he really deserves a Best Actor. The insert song was The Eagles - Desperado, I almost cried during one scene accompanied by this song T.T Wonder how much they paid for this song...

Shinohara Ryoko
has done it again LOL, is there anyone out there can top her now?? Maybe she gets better script =P

Check out the lyrics of this song written by Tanaka Koki (KAT-TUN). Oh GAWD =.= Out of curious how it sounds like, I downloaded it lol. Verdict: He raps better. The song: Hilarious? Learned some 'dirty' words in Japanese xD

Wonder if YUI will ever come up these lyrics (even though CHE.R.RY is considered 'extreme' by my standard lol).

Till then, ajiu~

YUI no Ontama 28/03/2007

I have promised someone to do part 5 first BUT, part 3 is kinda relate to Part 5 so....

Reminder: Don't believe in everything I typed. If you wanna sub it, please 'correct' my English, make it sound nicer lol (I don't wanna get bashed). This time I didn't translate it 'completely' because if using that way I have to reconstruct the sentences, makes it harder to read.

Some of the translation I referred to Brad's @ YUI Lover.

whisper - YUI

Ontama whisper. A word referring to the theme given. First up, during a film shooting, you messed up the dialogue. Your co-star is a famous actor and he seems pissed. What will you say?

YUI: ...I'm sorry.

After safely finished the filming, and while you were relieved that it turned out okay, there was no tape inside the camera. What will you say?

YUI: おっと! (uh-oh, oops, aiyak, alamak)

You bought a long-sleeved kimono to wear it during adult ceremony, and there is a small stain on it. What will you say?

YUI: Ah there's something on it right?

You exchanged the long-sleeved kimono, have a good look on it and yet there's still have stain on it. What will you say?

YUI: おっと! (uh-oh, oops, aiyak, alamak)

Note that she's smiling when she walks up xD

Ontama CD sales ranking, last week's best seller was...

1. NEWS - Hoshi wo Mezashite
2. Kobukuro - Tsubomi
3. Utada Hikaru - Flavor Of Life

You received an email from the person you had a crush on and it's filled with lots of emoticons. What will you say?

YUI: ehhhhh! うん (agrees on herself).

Note that she's smiling again when she walks up xD In case you wondering why she responded in such way, YUI is not a fan of emoticons. See her diary, she prefers double exclamation marks (!!) =P

Sorry about the 'surrealness' in this episode.

Brought to you by au by KDDI.

Left: The must-bring-thing when going out for a walk will be..? Right: YUI again in tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Brad made some quiz, take this quiz to see How Big of a YUI fan you are.

AND for the guitarists out there (including all the beginners), check here and get a chance to let YUI listens to your 'masterpieces'.

Btw that photo on my profile was taken by Emily Lin with some Nikon D40, need to cut my hair adi.

Till then, adieu~ (Anyone needs a Japanese tutor?? Hire me lol.)

‘chili-chili-out-chil-chili-out kiddy yo'

Album: mihimaru GT - THE BEST of mihimaru GT

Understand
PV is out. It is the theme song of Takeuchi Yuko's latest movie, saidokaa ni inu.

Official Website

I don't know whether if it's a coincidence or not, the character name of the little girl in the movie is....Kondo Kaoru xD

Gonna learn how to pluck this song =D If this song is sung by other artists, I'll skip the PV right away, not really a fan of slow ballad-ish song. But since it's something from YUI, the more I listen to it the more I like it actually. Especially the bridge part. Notice the thin strap she used in the PV?? xD

Some nice people did the timing for the Ontama thing and posted up on YouTube.

YUI no Ontama 26/03/2007
Original Post

I'm kinda surprise that NO ONE (including myself) realised that I made a HUGE mistake on the translation T.T maybe I was high on that day, didn't notice it =.= To cicerone, thank you for hard subbing it and to the YUI fans out there, again, I apologise for making such mistake. No wonder they say that you yourself is the worst judge, can't help but kept trying to look for mistakes in that 1 min long clip lol. I shall stop procrastinating and start working on the rest.

Anyway, it's been a long time since I last write a dorama entry. Having holiday now, spending most of the time 'clearing up' the dramas in my hard disc. This season I've picked 4 doramas to watch. Due to the Golden Week thingy, the ratings are pretty much sucked.

Japanese Drama Season - Spring 2007

As usual, I will arrange them from the one I like the most (so far) to my least favourite.

Bambino!

I like dramas with food as the main theme. I still manage to finish Teppan Shoujo Akane even though it was cheesy to the max. Ok not really, not because of the food actually, it's the person who makes the food (Horikita Maki LOL). In Bambino! we have Karina =D the girl with blue cap. She just won best supporting actress for her role in Boku no Aruku Michi. So nice to look at LOL.

Forget about the 'visual effects'. In this drama Matsumoto Jun is some kampung boy from Hakata(博多), Fukuoka. Why they have to put Arashi's song as the theme song anyway?? Was hoping that they'll pick a more 'artistic' song.

You know dear YUI is from Fukuoka, and she IS from Hakata too. When Matsujun speaks with her girlfriend in the drama, they used Hakata dialect. Thanks to YUI, I learned some of it through the interviews and managed to apply it to this drama haha. It seems that the translators know Italian too, they can even translate those Italian dishes :O *salutes* I shall ask my Italian major course mates to listen to the Japanese-ish Italian. See if they pronounced it correct or not xD

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joudan ja nai

Ueno Juri won best actress for Nodame Cantabile, which was my favourite drama of last year's fall season drama. Again I don't like the theme song of this xD The plot should be quite ridiculous but I like it lol. It's funny yet not cheesy, thanks to the great acting by the cast.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Proposal Daisakusen

Not really into these one episode one senario thing, for jdramas. Plus the stupid catchphrase and the chanting part everytime the 'cupid' appears are kinda annoying. Well since it's a drama feat Nagasawa Masami and Yamashita Tomohisa, should be 'visually' stunning enough haha, even though it seems that YamaP is still playing himself in the drama. His character reminds me of Densha Otoko (who's 'fighting' alone), but I think he is even worse than Densha =.=

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seito Shokun!

Ironically YUI sang the theme song for this drama lol. The good thing is you can listen to My Generation orchestra and guitar plucking version, must get the soundtrack =D The whole 'ugly history' was too normal(?) for me, watched too many school dramas I guess. As usual Horikita Maki is nice to look at, but I'm kinda worry that Nobuta wo Produce will stuck as so called her best work. Even though she got Best Supporting actress for Kurosagi (which I thought her acting was just meh).

Guess what sort of 'relationship' dear YUI has with 2 of the main cast in the drama, Horikita Maki and Hongo Kanata. YUI and Maki chan are the regular hosts in SCHOOL OF LOCK! radio program. I only have the access of YUI LOCKS!, thanks to the nice fans out there. YUI mentioned Maki chan's name from time to time (for anouncement purposes). Maki chan is one of the teacher of GIRLS LOCKS!, which features 6 bijin sensei (beautiful teachers). I wanna be their students too LOL (even though I'm older than some of them >.< ).

Slightly off topic here, might as well talk about YUI's 'relationship' with Narumi Riko. Yes, the b!thcy but thoughtful sister in 1 Litre of Tears. She is one of the bijin sensei in GIRLS LOCKS! too. Long story but I'll cut it short, since last week dear YUI has been paying 'visits' to other classes in the school of lock, after hosting the show like more than 6 months. Which btw I think these paying visits thing was initiated by RADWIMPS aka Raddo sensei. YUI heard that Riko chan likes her first album a lot, so she sent Riko chan a package with CAN'T BUY MY LOVE cd and a message from her in it.

(SOURCE: GIRLS LOCKS! website)

Too bad I can't hear it T.T Can only rely on the 'text version' >.< Glad that YUI is getting more 'open' to other artists now. Good sign. Lets see if she will have any interactions with the guests in the future apperance in Music Station.

Back to Hongo Kanata. Apparently this kid has YUI's mobile phone number :O He said in some magazine that sometimes he mails dear YUI (as said by some Japanese fan). Ish, I'm jealous. In case you don't know, he is the kid in Tommorow's way PV, which is the theme song of the movie Hinokio. He's in it as well.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I watched abit of Watashitachi no Kyokasho too, but I think one school drama already enough. So...quit lol. As for previous season, I finished Haken no Hinkaku and Hanadan. Still watching Karei-naru Ichizoku (some twisted drama *tsk *tsk). My short reviews are here. Note that I joined the website like 4 years ago, my English was really sucked back then. Now 'slightly' better. *ahem* Slightly.

Till then, au revior.

Talila talila talilalilalila Galileo Galilei~

Album: RADWIMPS - RADWIMPS 4 ~おかずのごはん~

Somehow this entry has something to do with YUI. If you have the time, feel free to read it, ranted alot though.

Before that, today I digged around YouTube and I found this. *embarrassed* How to make the love icon thing anyway??

I got myself a classical guitar yesterday from my uncle~ Yamaha C-60. My advice will be if you want to learn guitar all because of YUI, better buy an acoustic guitar because classical guitar sounds weird when you strum it even though it is easier to play and doesn't hurt that much on the fingers. Maybe I should change this strings and stuff first, before I try to practice plucking on this guitar =D Because it was stuffed in the cabinet for so long.

I went to the Wesak Day's parade thing too. I missed it last year because of National Service. Saw alot of old friends, which was nice. I listened to ELLEGARDEN's songs throughout the whole parade, Emily Lin, if you're reading this, I was listening to RADWIMPS and ELLEGARDEN. Not that I didn't want to tell you, no point telling you something you might not like, it's all about personal preferences. Not many Malaysian listen to this anyway (been a freak for the past 5 years), if you know+like (Malaysian) them, add me in your msn NOW lol. After that my friend joined me and we walked together. Maybe I should go and meet her cousin someday since he's crazy about the Japanese culture and just bought a guitar LOL.

I read an article on newspaper the other day. About the current trend of publishing media. Nowadays people rely on internet more to look for relevant information, and a lot of 'pros' were borned. But they are only good in certain fields and these people might not aware of the current world's events and so on. When we read newspaper, at least we will take a glance on the main title even if it's something we are not interested. But when it comes to the internet, we will only look at things we want to see. I'm kinda like that actually.

If you don't get it never mind, the point is I just wanna say that besides YUI, I know other stuff too that's all. I read newspaper from time to time (not everyday) and Harry Potter, I don't listen to Chinese songs that much anymore but I do know most of the old ones, I do admit that I 'neglected' English songs nowadays. I spent whole afternoon yesterday watching astro's channel 16, 71 (MTV) and 72 (channel V) at my uncle's house. A lot of crappy songs but I enjoyed it anyway, seeing those so called best sellers of these days. Snow Patrol's Spiderman 3 mtv was funny, they're really getting more popular. Watched The Fray's How to save a life for the first time as well lol. I still prefer European music =x I admit that of all the American punk/ emo/ rock bands out there, I prefer Good Charlotte. Keep your hands off my girl~~ I don't know why I didn't go to their concert though.....Muse...T.T

Enough of the Western music talk lol. I just bought Sarah Mclachlan's Surfacing the other day because there aren't nice albums available in Malaysia these days. Had to buy old ones. Or maybe because I listen to those non-mainstream stuff =/ Have to rely on internet shops these days. But since I'm so cheap, I rather wait until it's available in Malaysia because I can get discount from my aunt =D

Talking about YUI's latest album in Malaysia, my aunt asked Sony about it and they said still no news regarding whether they will import it or not zzz. There are HK, Taiwan, Singapore versions out there why don't they just cincai import one to Malaysia??? *sigh* A bunch of slow-@sses.

This entry is getting too long and I still haven't write the main topic LOL. Separate it better then.

Someone is going to America zzz. I don't know the exact place though =x

To be continue.
