After a long wait, finally get to see YUI performing Rolling Star live (on TV). First up it's on Music Fighter.
Even though she looks nice in this, kawaii wah very white ah skin so smooth yada yada yada, but she LIP-SYNCHED for the first time in history.
Yea.
As I was 'worrying' about the over-exposure thing yesterday, it kinda came true.
According to the drummer (at the back), this performance was recorded on 21st December 2006. Around the time when her voice condition were so bad until alot of her fans wondering if she's ok. I wonder how she managed to sing Rolling Star acoustic in YUI Locks Christmas special.
That's not an excuse though. Someone at jpopmusic said that it's normal for the producers to dub over the original recording if it turns out wasn't so good.
Back to the performance. Throughout 2 mins of the live performance, it is obvious that she lip-synched. Emotionless expressionless, looks tired, YUI 'constipated' trademark barely visible, messing around with the chords and strumming patterns, can't even bring herself to open her mouth (quoted from different comments). She looks sad = (
My explanation: She did it purposely. Ok sorta haha. As a way to protest for not being able to sing it live or being forced to perform under such condition. I don't about how YUI feels, but for a singer, being forced to lip-synch gotta affect their pride or something, hence the 不甘願 performance. Because being YUI-stalker for such a long time, I never seen her performing such an.....'unwilling' live. Normally people who 'loves' to lip-synch won't make such faces haha.
This made me wonder: Maybe because of this......
1. No Kouhaku (turned down the offer)
2. No CDTV special or other TV live performances during end of the year.
3. Last minute decided to attend Music Station (cos alot of fans requested??)
4. The drummer worried about her performance in Music Station which was a day later.
5. Why she so nervous during MSSL.
6. This performance was not listed on her official website.
7. She decided to sing Rolling Star in YUI Locks even though she doesn't have to.
Hope that this shall be the first and the last as well. Lets see the rest of the performances in Music Station (a live show so...), CDTV (I have a bad feeling about this) and Popjam. Really wanna see the rest asap.
Sorry for wasting your time to read this pointless post lol. Just wanna clear up something. Seems that being an artist is hard, especially if you have the looks + talent LOL. Sacrifice talent or $$$? Listen to the company or obey?
Ok I should go outside more now, and not analyzing people haha. This is just my biased point of view anyway. This shall be my biggest rant, ever.

Hana Yori Dango 2
Listening: January 17th released singles =P
Hana Yori Dango is back.
Wikipedia
Official Website
This means dear Nanako is back as well =D
Hanazawa Rei is getting kakkoii-er lol.
Infamous violin scene. Not Nodame Cantabile but at least better than Vic Chou's.
With new theme song, and new insert song. This time by Utada Hikaru.
Hikki is back~ Love her Utada United concert, one of the best I've 'watched' last year. The PV itself quite boring, however imo this song gotta big the next hit ballad. Someone said even though it cannot surpass First Love, but it is on the same par with Deep River. This is the ballad version, can't wait to listen the original version. This song fits perfectly in this drama, but somehow you can roughly guess when the song will be played in the drama =x
Back to Hanadan. Since it's a manga turned romantic comedy with lots of eye candy, a certain degree of cheesiness would be expected. However this time the level of cheesiness has reached another height, after I watched episode 2. Example:
1. Countless flashbacks on the 'kiss under sunset' featured in part 1.
2. This one really classic. Ep 2, after Tsukushi's friend Yuki said 'arigatou', Hikki's song came in:
ありがとう 言われると 何だか切ない。。。
If you know what I mean.
Anyway, I've watched Meteor Garden, so the plot of Hanadan seems familiar compared with last season, just hope that the 'crazy fiancee' thing ends soon. The first episode was too long for my taste, kinda dragged in some parts, I'm still enjoying this drama anyway. No.2 most watched drama in Japan at the moment, way behind Kimura Takuya's Karei-naru Ichizoku, haven't watch it but since it's written by the same author who wrote Shiroi Kyoto......hmm family political conflict perhaps? Watched the preview though, seems heavy + hard to swallow plot thing.
I should write my thoughts on last season's jdrama soon haha. Too lazy.
Till then, ciao~
PS: I didn't win the wristband, including all the overseas' fans too haha. Next time I should put Japan instead.
Rolling Star's first day sales:
My prediction kinda erm...haha. The day I talked on Skype with a Singaporean staying in Fukuoka, she said YUI is very famous in Japan right now lol, even though I kinda knew it but it's good to see her being recognised. Hope that Sony won't turn her into an idol or another 'potential' money maker =/ YUI's gonna perform in Music Fighter, Music Station, Popjam (this I can watch on tv hee), CDTV, and Top Runner. Another record. It's good for her fans though haha. However I prefer her stays in the studio and doing recordings for her new album =x Over-expose can be a bad thing hee.

Which one???
Album: Utada Hikaru - Deep River
YUI Radio is giving away 'Rolling Star' wristband as an apologising gift for being unable to broadcast during New Year.
See the white thingy on her wrist??? Decided to try my luck on it, so that I can 'force' myself to practice writing in Japanese. Here's what I wrote:
「YUIを初めて知ったのは」
CDTVと言う音楽番組なんです。その時、デビュー曲「Feel my soul」を聞いて、「この女性アーティストはギターを弾けるな、カッコイイな」と思った。でも、見たらすぐ忘れしまった。彼女を本気に応援したいきっかけはこの「LIFE」曲なの。アニメBLEACHから聞いたら、「こんなに良い曲が誰か歌うの?」と思った。YUI?あぁ、あの「I feel my soul, take me‘away'」の子だ!(笑)そしてYUIさんの曲を全部聞いて、彼女のことをもっと知りたいです。もう、もどらないんです。実は私は今日本語を勉強していて、いつか日本へ行って、YUIのライヴを見たいんです。YUIさんのおかげで、ギターもよく練習しています。ニューシングル「Rolling Star」もう予定しました。期待しています!!!
Please ignore those grammatical errors T.T I'm not really sure what 'form' I should use, and the choice of words =/ Anyway, at least I did send it, cleared another item on my to-do list hee.
Actually I wanted to write about a lot of stuff, but it takes alot of time so gave up in the end haha. I've already finished all of the jdramas featured in my previous entry (except Kazoku), wanted to write about my current fave bands, wanted to share with you people what I am studying......share my YUI collection and discoveries about her, share more songs played by yours truly etc etc etc.....bah, next time =P
Today I went to The Guitar Store again, after installing the guitar strap holder at the back of the guitar, secretly I wanted to attach that holder thing at the same place as YUI's guitar (I'm a fangirl bleh), but they said it's safer so that it won't crack the wood, so.....
And then the Fender guitar strap I wanted was SOLD OUT!!! In case you forgot what it looks like.....
Since I paid 4 bucks for the freaking toll + another 3 bucks for the parking fees, Don't wanna leave the shop just like that. So I 鼓起勇气, asked the salesperson whether I can take a look on the Squier Tele and Strat. These 2 are the 'candidates' for my first electric guitar. Never 'touched' any electric guitar before, kinda heavy when I first held it. The shop only has California series, cost only RM 580 (or USD 165, both strat and tele cost almost the same). I saw another series in different shop, and it cost a whooping RM 1500 (USD 430, tele btw). The thing is when I googled for California series, erm.......it's only available in some Latin speaking country =/
Maybe I should decide either Stratocaster or Telecaster first then decide which series to buy >.< Rolling Star was leaked. It's normal but.....well I've ordered it so.....haha.
Till then, tata~

His Master's Voice
Album: 雅 Miyavi - 雅歌-独奏
No I'm not a fan of visual kei. Just this is an acoustic oriented album. It rocks actually lol, especially '自己至上主義者の成れの果て' and 'I Love You さえ聞こえない' (whatever you called it in english lol), I still have the pv in my pc, the guitar playing was MAD. Then out of curious, went to dig some stuff about Miyavi, discovered some interesting stuff of course.
Anyway, I pre-ordered YUI's Rolling Star at HMV Japan, along with Feel My Soul and Tommorow's Way, because they were having sales on YUI's first 2 singles. Nah that's just part of it, since YesAsia's doesn't counted towards Oricon sales, CD Japan's first press (Got free Bleach Sticker) sold OUT!! (imagine that) and Amazon Japan being too expensive, in the end I chose His Master's Voice aka HMV. Hopefully I can get the First Press edition since it's on first come first serve basis. Now left 3 singles to collect haha.
Then I thought, maybe this time YUI can get number one spot. Since I kinda persuaded someone to order it at HMV as well. Apparently not. Alot of BIG name artists gonna release new single on January 17 as well. Here are some of them (If you don't know about them nevermind I just wrote this out of boredom), some of the songs are quite nice actually:
First up, Hirai Ken - Aika (Elegy) 「哀歌/エレジー」
He's back~!! With ballad after his previous poppy cheesy singles, not that I hated it but.....some people said it's Ayumish, yea kinda agree because some parts of the PV definately kinda similar with Ayu's PVs. And for the song, for me it's kinda different with his previous ballads, but I really like it. I was hoping that the cameraman will move the angle lower though.......
Shiina Ringo x Saito Neko + Shiina Junpei - Konoyo no Kagiri
She's doing a duet with his brother!! And a conductor lol, he arranged this song. Shiina Ringo really can compose all kinds of songs, from the previous jazzy one till this, words cannot describe how talented she is. This is a movie theme song if I'm not mistaken, it has the erm you know those songs which appeared in musicals lol. I like that in the pv instead of using the real instrument, they used something elses to represent it. Such as 2 laptops for piano and what not.
EXILE - Lovers Again
It's a R&B song. This one reminds me of Ayumi's (again) No way to say haha.
Crystal Kay - Kitto Eien ni
This is one of the most 'difficult-to-sing' song from her imo. Now I really wanna she her performing this song, whether she can reach all those high notes. Crystal Kay got a big mole near her left armpit, trademark I guess, cooler than tatoo lol. I think she purposely stretch one of her legs out abit so that see the real 'side'of the dress......
GLAY - 100 man kai no KISS
Another typical love song by Glay. 1000000 times of kiss, cheesiness xD
Kimura Kaela - Snowdome
Kaela looks nice with short hair + cute/ weird outfit, always like the way she wears lol. This song is just normal, I forgot how the tune sounds like now......
Lastly, this is not released on 17 though, it'll be released on the next week. I'm pretty sure it'll get no.1.
Mr.Children - FAKE
Since I heard the preview of this song, liked it straight away. I don't know how many times I've been repeating the PV on MPC. Loved the electric guitars~ Both the sound and the ones they're using lol. Mr. Children can rock as well~ I'm loving this veteran band day by day. This PV actually kinda similar with Youthful days imo, with those wicked characters and the colour tone.
I think that's most of the BIG names who's gonna release singles on the same day as YUI, there's Shimatani Hitomi and Younha (woah), and...w-inds. Personally I guess EXILE will get no.1, follow by Hirai Ken, w-inds, or Glay....not sure la. As I was looking at new releases, Kanye West is doing a duet with Teriyaki Boyz??? They are the ones who sang the Tokyo Drift song. Hmm.......
Till then, au revior.

Thick-Faced
Album: Muse - Black Holes And Revelations
Since YUI Lover has a tribute album thing going on, think of participating it, for fun.
Immediately I did the recording for the song I'm gonna cover, Tokyo. Actually that's the first ever song I learned. And it's quite easy to play (except for the Bm chord Zzz).
So, (Warning: Bad vocal and lousy guitar skills)
My pathetic attempt on YUI's Tokyo
That's just the demo, 'might' improvise it, or ask my classmate to do the vocal instead lol I can't sing.
Tell me if it's alrite xD I'm gonna delete bad comments though =x
Anyway, Muse is coming to Malaysia on 25th of February, I watched some of their lives on Youtube few days ago, woot they rocked~!!! If I have an electric guitar I think I'm gonna learn to play the intro of 'Supermassive black hole' LOL, someone did it and it looks COOL, ok maybe for me I need another few more years......Just learned tapping, and voila, one of their song's (Invincible) solo has tapping as well, now they are coming here??? Talking about coincidences. Since my guitar teacher doesn't like British rock......who wants to join me??? If buy the tickets on this Sunday will get 30% off (I'm cheap), gonna make decision soon >.< Not going to buy the ticket at the 'human mosh pit' (named by Annie Lau) though, imagine the odours and.....needles? This gonna be my first ever rock concert, can't wait. My previous concert was like......in 2 years ago? (David Tao's)
Later got presentation......I suck at this =/ Somemore the class is 3 hours long......save me T.T
Boo.
Adieu.
