half-banana 21st Birthday Giveaway: Magazines, Books, YUI Files

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Misc YUI Info:

After watching Nodame and Last Friends, I've become a big fan of Ueno Juri.

What does it have to do with YUI??

Ueno Juri mentioned YUI on this radio show called FM802 Design The Night (06/02/2008). This is what she said when the host asked her what music does she listen to:

Juri: In any case, I'm really into UK Rock. Recently, for Japanese songs, for female artist, it would be YUI. Male artist would be Bump of Chicken. Both of them are really cool.

Find out more about this and Ueno Juri goodies in Ueno Juri's LJ community.

PS: I started out with SPEED, and I love UK rock too =3

This is a rough list on what I'm going to upload in the next 22 days. Some of them were uploaded before, don't miss it this time =D

What should I insert in those empty blanks...

As for magazines/books give away, here are some of the books I'm giving away. I have more, but I don't know where are they, some are borrowed, some......

I've read 'em all~

I'm going to add Haruki Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle if I can finish it by September.

If you guys are interested, leave a comment on which book you want and tell me where are you from. I'll mail it to you for free if you don't mind air/sea mail, until I went broke.

I just finished Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point, now reading Freakonomics, I couldn't understand this book when I first read it last year (English level too low). Now I kinda know why this book is so popular, it's interesting. Going to read Blink next.

These Japanese entertainment magazines (J-Point) are in Chinese. Back then when I know no Japanese, and no access to the internet, J-Point is my number 1 source of J-related stuff.

Every two weeks, I'll go to the only shop who has this magazine and buy it. Each copy was around RM 7.50, for a 15 year old, it was consider quite expensive. For SPEED & Hamasaki Ayumi, for Jpop, I rather spend less on fancy clothes and food. They had this column on Ayumi's history, for 10+ issues. I was determined to collect each issue, until the magazine shop stop selling J-Point. I was really sad about it, I've looked everywhere, nobody was selling this magazine any more.

Teenagers, you know. Grades, J-stuff, friends, were some of the things mattered in my teenage life. My world was very small, and now I couldn't read my fave magazine, it was as if part of my world has gone. lol. I can spend whole day reading J-Point back then.

Now that I can read Japanese, I discovered that most of these magazines just translate articles from Japan magazines, and compiled them together. We wouldn't know how accurate it is, without the original source. They can make up anything they want.

If any of you are interested, leave a comment as well. Since the magazines are quite heavy, you might have to pay for the shipping fees.

I'm going to sell them to second hand book stores or recycle if nobody wants them by September. I go for simplicity more these days, only keep YUI stuff, in HDD. I stopped buying magazines as well, unless YUI is on the cover.

So, help me get rid of these xD
