CHE.R.RY, Good-bye days and Rolling star.
This is my conclusion, after jamming with a bunch second year high school girls from Kyoto the other day.
The whole class with 40 students came to my university (I wonder why), and as Japanese major students, we were supposed to interact with them, exchanging cultures and stuff.
Cute high school outfit.
During the performance session, we decided to sing Tsuji Ayano's Kaze ni naru, yours truly played the guitar. I messed up a bunch of chords =.= I can never play this song without missing one or two chords.
Anyway, they liked it, I suppose. We even sang together during the sharing session. Most of the students recognised me as the person who played guitar a while ago (yay). Even though they are still high school students, their power point slides are way organised than mine. I wonder what sort of slides used in university level. Maybe I should take a course or something, learn how to make An Inconvenient Truth-ish slides lol.
Each Malaysian student was assigned to a group of students, someone named them sheep. My friend came later so I had to take care of two groups of sheep (6 + 4). All girls, no boys. Boys generally didn't talk much, I didn't talk to any of them, because I shy.
The fun begins. First we had lunch together. I was telling Haruka chan that eating papaya (Malaysian fruit) will become bigger, while making circles using my hands in front of my chest. She got all excited and told almost whole class about it. Shouting from one end to another. It was hilarious.
After that we had 3 hours sharing session, which means free time. First we walked around nearby campus, the girls were fascinated by our traffic lights, which looks something like this. They kept on taking pictures while saying "sugoi, sugoi~" That cracked me up, realising how I take things such as traffic lights for granted, all these years.
After exposing ourselves under hot sun for 30 minutes, I surrendered and we went back to the gathering point. We didn't know what to do, hence we played Catching ghosts and Fruits Basket. I'm too old for this so I decided to sit aside and observe after a few rounds.
When everyone was tired from running around (Fruit Basket), I brought out my guitar and gave to Nozomi chan. She's a YUI fan (yay), she started to play random YUI songs. She told me that she has 4 guitars, two of them are Yamahas (yay). Among the girls there's this girl called Yui, she played bass version of Sen no Kaze ni Natte using my guitar. Kakkoi!!
I told the girls I could only play YUI songs, which is partially true. We sang CHE.R.RY, Rolling star and Good-bye days together. That was the first time I jammed songs with Japanese. A bunch of cute girls xD They increased their volume every they sing the chorus of rolling star, because they only know that part lol, other parts they just hummed.
It was a fun day, I get to practise my Japanese because I've been slacking for the past few weeks. Wish that I at least took the initiative and talk with one or two boys, haih.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two days later, something really weird happened. After finished my part time, I wandered around KLCC, and I bumped into my first batch of sheep (Haruka's group). Haruka was saying '会っちゃった' lol. Everyone was surprised. I get to see them wearing cute normal clothes. Of course, I took pictures with them as evidence.
On my way back to Kajang, I bumped into my other group (Nozomi's group) at KL Sentral. 40 students, I bumped into 10 of them, all from my group. No more, no less.
OMG what is going on??? The Law of Attraction??
PS: I'm leaving to Singapore at 7.30 am.

My first mobile phone, first phone strap
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Misc YUI News:
I'm sure you guys heard that powerful earthquake which strikes Japan on last Saturday, June 13.
Dear YUI was having her 3rd concert tour in Morioka, Iwate prefecture a day before. The earthquake struck Iwate on the next morning.
On June 15, she had another concert in Aomori Prefecture. Fans asked YUI about the incident during live. She only replied:"I was shocked." That's all.
Some said that it was appropriate that YUI didn't mention much of the earthquake because, you know, we go to concerts to have fun.Plus, I'm sure YUI doesn't want us to worry about her and all.
Source: Sponichi Annex News (Thanks Kippei)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been using this Nokia phone since high school. My first ever mobile phone, and recently I 'decorated' it with something YUI-related for the first time, because I'm not really into accessories.
Luckily I have memorised all the numbers and characters on the keypad. I cannot put YUI songs in my phone T.T
Here's the deal, someone helped me to buy/get a bunch of stuff when he/she was meeting YUI in Japan.
Not mine. Other YLs already 'booked' all these, too many connections xD
Apparently I have extras. This might sound as if I am some evil middlewoman (don't care), on first come first serve basis, me is selling:1. Phone strap - RM 55 *sold out* 2. T-shirt (Beige, size S) - RM 130 *sold out*
If you think it is expensive, another alternative is Online store J-Friends. I'm not going to defend my greediness by telling you guys how much planning I've done for this, the hassles and what not =P
Size S shirt looks something like that, YUI wears Lady's-S Size in her tour photos. Now I can hide my face behind the flash.
The price is fixed, no auction or anything. This is the only chance you can get YUI tour goods easily from a 'trusted' person, yours truly. (Copy from Swee Lee) Serious buyers from Malaysia or Singapore ONLY. First come first serve.
Why Malaysia and Singapore only? Simple.1. jo x2 - B, G (Singapore)
2. John x2 - B, G (Canada?)
3. shinji x2 - B, G (Philippines) *negotiating*
4. gotchi - B, G (Canada) *sent*5. natchi - B (Malaysia)6. kippei x2 - B,G (Malaysia)7. PeaceViolet - B (Malaysia)
8. STEPH y. - B (Canada) 9. Riku - B (Malaysia)10. Sherwin - B (Melaka)
11. Rob - B (Philippines) *negotiating*12. chiyo - B (Malaysia)13. akyna24 - B (Malaysia)14. Hammie - G (Malaysia)
Note: Don't ask too many questions, please do some research before hand ya. If you really want it.
PS: The Nail clipper key chain can really cut nails.

SUMMER SONG PV Preview
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Misc YUI-related stuff:
Georgina aka gotchi aka the one who made half-banana dot com's banner has just "met" YUI in Japan. Check out her blog for detailed account of Nagano live and her trip to those YUI-related spots.
4 YLs stalking YUI related spots all over Japan, looks fun xD
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YUI-net has updated to SUMMER SONG layout. So many smiling pictures.
So today Mezamashi TV aired the preview of SUMMER SONG. Laugh away part 2.
Tomorrow we will be seeing the full version~
Sennheiser headphone huh. My brother has the black one too.
The PV reminds me of Aiko. I always think that YUI's singing career will be something like Aiko's. Not over popular, but well know enough. Plus both of them write great lyrics. The most important is, we will be seeing YUI for a long time.
Of course, life is unpredictable. We will never know.
SUMMER SONG is a great driving song.
And I still haven't pre-order it yet. Maybe I should buy it together with the All Song Score or I LOVED YESTERDAY Band Score.

half-banana Goes to Singapore - Day 3
Note: This is the last part. I promise to write more YUI, less me in future posts.
Morning I met up with Jo to pass his 2 Marimokkoris. Thanks Jo for the extra $$ He said that he didn't join the SGYL outing because like me, he has human phobia too. Meeting people is fun so next time try it out ya.
My brother and I reached Clarke Quay station 30 minutes earlier, so we walked around The Central. So many Japanese restaurants, even Yakun is written in Katakana.
Weird Cloud. I wonder how much it costs to take the boat ride, looks fun.
When we returned back to meet up place, sonic87 was there. I had no idea who will be coming, except Danny and asuna. Plus, I was trying to "rescue" my remaining phone credits, I didn't call any of them. Lol.
Then Helixius, Danny, asuna, benzwong showed up. And ah Mel!!
Luckily she showed up. If not I'll punch myself so hard for not giving a proper good bye. Thank you.
First we had lunch in Ma Maison. Before I came to Singapore, I kinda did some extensive research on which Japanese restaurant I would like to go. I could only pick one because, still a student, cannot splurge too much. After showing like 5-6 restaurants to asuna through msn, we decided to try out Ma Maison.
Ben's Squid ink spaghetti, tastes like fried kuay tiaw. I didn't get the chance to hear Ben sings From Me to YUI live =(
I always wanted to try out Japan-ish western food, after watching shows like Dotch Cooking show and Takeuchi Yuko's Lunch Queen. It was worth RM 70++ I shall say. My biggest expenditure in this trip. I told everyone that I wanted to go SG because of The Great Singapore Sale, that was just an excuse to meet you guys xD I didn't really buy anything in this trip.
I chose Omurice because it has less meat lol (half-banana is half-vegetarian), and my brother's vegetarian spaghetti, which is not on the menu. More pictures here.
I love the omelette!! Most of their customers are Japanese, and they have quite a few Japanese staffs. That explains why we had to wait for around 15 minutes. Then Danny took out these:
Holy Grail unopened sealed in plastic "chest", plus bubble wraps, triple protection. On the left is Kaoru's watch.
Yes, I finally touched one of the 1000 copies It's happy line CDs in this world. Thanks Danny!! I'll try to get the "stuff" as promised for you.
After lunch, time for guitar stores tour~
Most of the guitar stores in SG are nearby, unlike Malaysia, where from one store to another, you have to drive at least 30 minutes, plus traffic jam, look for parking and all.
So many guitars!! So many picks!! Especially my fave Dunlop nylon. I always have trouble buying them in Malaysia. I didn't take any pictures because I didn't want to make others to slow down, if you get what I mean. Guitar sight-seeing was fun, if I can afford one...SG National Library looks like a fun place to visit too...
As everyone was kinda reserved, I didn't get the chance to see them showing off their guitar skills. Nebermind, next time.
Group photo is a must. From left: My brother, Teo, uchihamel, benzwong, the_chap, DJAffinity, Helixius, asuna
This time I did say good bye to everyone, properly. It was a memorable outing, thank you for showing up and brought us around. Sorry for not taking the initiative to get to know you guys more. Guess I'm better at stalking your blogs than talking face to face, I'll try to improve on this. Next time we should have "private" or "unofficial" outings, if really want to chat more haha.
Some ways I did to reduce the awkwardness is, besides stalking blogs, when meeting internet friends for the first time, must know how they look like, and try to chat with them in msn at least once. I'm gonna prepare a long list of questions to ask in future outings, as back up. Unless you are adventurous and outgoing type, having blind date/outings might be interesting.
On the next day, we took MRT to Kranji station, then from there, took bus to Larkin. It was quite interesting, hopping on and off buses, and passing customs, when there were not many people.
BUT, in Larkin station, I bought tickets from scalpers. I really should shut my ears the moment they approached me, or chase them away. I paid RM 30 for RM 20 ticket. If you're not in the hurry, please buy tickets at the counter, ask every counters if you have to. Don't ever listen to them (like me), even though they were telling you the tickets are all sold out. It feels shitty to be cheated, it's not about the money. Stupid me.
Luckily I recovered on our way back, even though the bus (Plusliner) was worse than Transnasional, the seat was small and the journey was super bumpy. Yea I was punished for being so naive, it was fun, realising my stupidity.
That wraps up my journey to Singapore. I feel like going again, still haven't visit NTU. When I went back home, I had this empty void, feeling all lonely, recalling back my short journey. That's why I appeared in msn quite often, trying to find someone to chat with, getting all sentimental and nostalgic lol.
Thank you for reading.
PS: The reason I ranted so long is because I enjoyed finding inside stories on others' blog posts about the outing. This is kinda dedicated to you guys out there.

half-banana Goes to Singapore - Day 2
Note: My memory is slowly fading away...due to procrastination.
I 'almost' rounded whole Singapore this time.
Morning my brother and I went to NUS. My high school mate Leng was our NUS guide, along with her 2 other crazy friends.
We were here in NUS. I can't remember what's the building behind us.
After visiting almost every corner of NUS (except Science Faculty), I like this place the most:
Library!!
I thought that my uni (UM)'s library is already good enough, I can never finish reading all the books there. But NUS's Central Library has larger, newer collection of books, including Japanese ones, opens 24 hours during exams, comfortable sofas and chairs...T.T
No wonder my school is not even in top 200 universities, besides some other reasons. Since I only pay like RM 900 per semester, whereas someone in NUS pays SGD 3000, I shouldn't be whining. I actually like my uni, especially our languages and linguistics faculty, our buildings may not have cool looking designs (it looks like some store room), but we have a bunch of nice lecturers/ senseis. If you can afford it, NUS is great with its conducive environment for students. I'm gonna miss their canteen and libraries.....
The sign says: Centre For English Language Communication
We had coffee + Kaya toast, Old Chang Kee, Yong Tau Fu in 2 different canteens, Little Prince, who finally dragged himself out from bed, joined us together for lunch. The food in NUS is cheap and has so many varieties!! McD, Burger King, Subway, hawker food, bar, etc...my school canteen? Sad. I rather bring my own food.
My friends stay in these fancy looking hostels. Apparently they have another high class hostels for super outstanding students.
After taking a peak at my friend's room, we left NUS, and headed to our next destination. We took bus 142 (I think), I ditched my brother and alighted at HarbourFront MRT where as my brother continued his journey to Orchard Road. We met a nice girl in the bus who taught us when to get off from bus. It was a double decker bus but we didn't go to the upper deck, just to be safe, because we had no idea when to signal the driver to stop.
BUT, someone brought me to take double decker bus afterwards so yay~ My first ever double decker bus ride.
That someone was dear Ah Mel aka uchihamel. Cute little girl. I went to her house and we watched Last Friends episode 8 together lol, then she guided me to the BBQ place, even brought me to eat Yakun and MOS Burger (suggested by ajiewien). We communicated in English and Chinese, because my brain couldn't function in English all the time. Didn't talk in Japanese though, it'll be weird. Maybe we should try that next time.
Ever since I've discovered dear YUI, I've tried out a lot of things I would have not imagined 2 years ago. I met internet friends offline from time to time (natsumi, she's the first 'internet friend' I met offline), joined outings, connecting with people all over the world.
After participating in a few outings, my experience is, for me the better way to get to know people more is through smaller (1-2) outings, because the other person can only talk to you LOL. I can ask more 'deep/weird' questions without worrying others will overhear. Introverts tend to be like that, privacy and all.
But that doesn't mean that I don't like large gatherings, thanks to this BBQ outing, I met all these wonderful SGYLs in real life. Pictures just don't do it justice. Must meet each other and "sense" their existence. When I first heard miss ajiewien speaking in super fine Chinese in our outing at Malacca, I was like, woah! 不愧是獨中生!!
Not to mention dear YUI also has great soothing voice xD
BBQ place. As we were walking from pit 15+, I was kinda mumbling that why is it so far, someone walked from 40 to pit C7.
Guitar session. I can't play most of the YUI songs coming out from that boom box.
As it's been a while since I last participate in a larger gathering, most of the time I just stuck with YLs that I've chatted with them before or forumers that I know. Human instinct, you know. Hence, I was hanging around the guitar session group most of the time. Checking out what songs they were jamming, and watching DJ and Lamevil attacking each other.
I've donated one copy of JamSpot magazines into the lucky draw, congrats to Helixius~
Entertaining myself. Pictures taken by dUStyEX99, more pictures here.
Things get all dramatic from here onwards, you may skip this.
After reading books such as How to Win Friends & Influence People, Never Eat Alone, my communication skills should have better right? Apparently not. We might have idolising the same person, but that doesn't mean we can talk about all the things under the sun. We might have been chat from morning till night through msn, that doesn't mean that our first meet up will be a smooth one. I might be a YUI encyclopaedia (sort of speak), that doesn't mean I can tell you every detail and perform YUI geek talk when we meet face to face.
Everyone was really nice though, since I was staying at my uncle's house, typically in Malaysia, 11 pm consider as quite late. That was why I left around 9 something, which appears weird by Singapore standard lol. Everyone was still enjoying the party. I kept on checking the time, and was wondering who could give me direction back because there isn't any MRT station nearby. I had no idea which bus to take, nor which bus stop I should go.
Then I saw Fanny and Danny leaving the BBQ place, after pondering a while, wondering whether I should leave or not, I made up my mind and ran 'slowly' towards them, without saying good bye to the rest. Then I heard someone shouted good bye or something. I was quite sure that it was Ah Mel, because...I went to her house??
I wanted to turn back but since it was quite embarrassing to do so, I left, feeling kinda disappointed.
Thank you to Fanny, Danny and gniawx again, for giving me directions back to my uncle's house. I think next time I should have no problem taking buses around Singapore.
On my way back, I finished Cal Newport's How to Win at College (Chinese translation). I kept on thinking of what I've done. Luckily, we still have another outing on the next day.
To be continued.

half-banana Goes to Singapore - Day 1
This is my third time to Singapore (SG). The last time was 2 years ago, I went there alone with the purpose of buying Cowon iAudio X5L mp3 player at Sim Lim Square. My friend in SG became my tour guide.
This time, I went to Singapore with the aim of touching the holy grail and meeting SGYLs, and tour NUS, guitar stores. Since I'm practically meeting a bunch of strangers, I have to bring my brother along as some sort of a protection, coming from a traditional Chinese family and all. My father still doesn't know about this.
I stayed at some where near Khatib MRT station for 3 days.
I never had the chance to run around in such nice football field, which apparently almost every school in SG has one.
I was grateful enough to my uncle for providing us accommodation, hence I didn't want to trouble them further. I decided to trouble my friends instead. I asked one of my friend to buy me a SG sim card because international roaming fees are crazy. She was supposed to be the first person I meet in SG, but something happened and she couldn't come.
Mistake 1: Didn't use local line to make phone calls/sms. I'm using Maxis + SingTel. One sms RM 2, call from SG to MY RM 5/min, in the end RM 50 gone in just 3 days.
So to Little Prince, Yuee Leng, Mel, sorry for not replying promptly or contact you guys as soon as possible, I was trying to figure out how to save my remaining phone credit xD And, I dare not call 'strangers', so sms was my only choice.
Mistake 2: My bus (Transnasional, RM 30, from Pudu to SG) stopped at Woodlands, SG customs checkpoint. My uncle's house is at Khatib station, which is 4 stops away from Woodlands MRT, instead I followed our bus all the way to Lavender, which is 13 stops away.
My Singapore Map. I used this to guess which part of SG are from. Green, Purple or Red line?
However, because of our stupidity, we discovered Mr. Bean at Lavender MRT station. We didn't have small changes to buy tickets, so we bought one red bean pancake to get smaller notes.
In the end, we reached my uncle's house safely. Luckily I didn't have MOS Burger with my friend, as planned because my uncle has prepared us dinner.
No wonder people always say, look on the bright side. Travel must be fun, don't let those unforeseen circumstances ruin your mood. Luckily it is just Singapore, I definitely dare not wander around Thailand without a guide.
Special thanks to my younger brother for carrying my clothes and stuff, acted as my bodyguard and all. The advantage of having a travelling companion =D

YUI 13th single, SUMMER SONG confirmed!!
Left: Limited Edition, Right: Normal Edition
Track List:
01 - SUMMER SONG
02 - Oh My God
03 - Laugh away ~YUI Acoustic Version~
04 - SUMMER SONG ~Instrumental~
Oh My God reminds me of HELP, and Penny Tai.
Feel free to steal the wallpapers at YL.
I like the cover in blue. It looks more natural. Mr. tsunvun has tabbed out the chords again. Must find some day to try it out.
Apparently ayaka has 'replaced' YUI's slot in SOL. I smell something fishy, you know YUI and ayaka used to go to the same music school and all. Don't worry, dear YUI still owns a spot in SOL's website, under YUI LINES! You can still send in your messages, voice mail, diaries, pictures and stuff.
Judging from the last episode of YUI LOCKS, I kinda think that dear YUI will return. Hopefully.
Yea I'm back from Singapore~ Finally had the chance to see these SGYLs in real life. Pictures of SG outing are here.
And BEHOLD, The Holy Grail~
I really should get a better hair cut.
Will write a super detailed post on the trip soon, if...you're interested.
